He Prances on all 4’s,
Eye level with his latest
Evildoer-

And with an obediently playful persistence,
He licks the Shaggy stubble
Of his best friends chin,
Keychain to his trademark blue collar illuminating his peace of mind.
And in return. He’s rewarded
A handful of his favorite bone-shaped snacks
As He begins to strut away from the scene,
Only to faintly hear in the distance-
“You meddling kids”
Muttered through the teeth of his latest culprit
As their mask, costume or make up is removed.

When abruptly, the since-aged Masses spending their Saturday mornings
Watching re-runs are brought to the realization that,
It’s humans who are the true masked monsters.
