NO MORE!
Do you remember that day?
Of Course you wouldn’t especially in the state you are in right now.
You don’t remember the words you said did you?
What am I kidding?
Fourteen years of marriage…
More like fourteen years of hell!
I still remember the time your fist came flying.
Do you?
No of course you wouldn’t, you were drunk that time.
And the other.
And other.
And other.
And what would you say to me?
‘I’m sorry, I love you, I’ll never do it again.’
And of course like the fool I am I believed you.
Again.
Again.
And again.
But not this time.
What were the vows you said to me that day?
Heck, forget I asked that; not even I know what you said.
You can’t blame me can you? With all the hits you give to my head.
But I believe it was along the words ‘I will love you to my last breath, I will never hurt you.’
Man, how I laugh as those words echo in my ears.
So much for the never hurting me right?
But not anymore.
After fourteen years this has come to a stop.
You will no longer raise that fist.
You will no longer say I’m worthless.
You will no longer make me feel bad about myself.
You will no longer control me.
The moment you raise that fist.
Is the moment that door opens.
The moment your fist comes towards me.
Is the moment I walk towards that door.
The moment your fist comes in contact with my face.
Is the moment I’m out that door.
It’s the moment I’m free.
It the moment where I say.
NO MORE!

I liked the message that this poem was sending. You did a very good job writing this. The only thing I would suggest is to watch out for your tenses. You are talking about something that happened in the past and are reflecting on it in the future. This can mess people up sometimes. Good job! 4/5
