The Art of Independence

He took everything from him.
You may think you’re invincible and on top of the world but it can all be snatched away if you’re not careful.
He wasn’t careful.
Everything was brutally taken.
He felt the very light that shined and danced bright in him everyday dwindle into nothing and become dark ash.
He seemed to lose all hope and happiness when he had nothing.
He had nothing.
Moping around with no emotion seemed to now be the only thing he excelled at.
He hadn’t always felt like this. Like a rat in an experiment
He used to have a motivational mindset.
He was excited to have a good day at school.
He was excited to go to work and help the store.
He was excited to spend time with his family and enjoy every second of it.
It’s sad how ones own beliefs can be so harshly ridiculed and shot down.
Losing all support and freedom has a bigger impact than you might imagine.
He turned a leaf.
He decided that his own actions are for humself to deal with and no one else’s.
No more dictation from people that didn’t have power over him.
Only his own will power would control him.
He felt euphoric and exhilarated to have happiness back.
No more relying on the useless relationships of others.
He was finally independent.
He finally, was himself again.
