Society
Society says she must be a size zero to be perfect,
Society says that she will never be worth it,
Society is constantly judging her waistline,
Giving her multiple eating disorders eventually in time,
Society promotes visible rib cages and thigh gaps,
Leading her down a long, destructive path,
Society says she needs to lose more weight,
Soon filling her mind full of nothing but self-hate,
Society says thinner is better,
Making her feel even lesser,
Society defines the guidelines of what she should be,
Teaching her to go without the nourishments her body needs,
She is beautiful in her own way,
No matter the number on the scale, size, or shape,
Society is cruel and out to kill,
Causing her to become even more mentally ill,
Society influences her to go to drastic measures,
Stealing her outlook on herself forever,
She is destroying herself to look like magazine models,
Soon enough, she'll hit rock bottom,
All pictures of "perfect" models are photo-shopped,
Society's outlook needs to be stopped,
Society promotes being bulimic and anorexic,
Only giving her another reason to obsess over it,
Soon she will start to hate looking at herself in the mirror,
Negative, suicidal thoughts will eventually become clearer,
She went from being so happy and full of life,
To suddenly harming herself every night,
Her eating disorders will turn her into a slave,
Becoming lifelessly small she will crave,
The occasional meal will start to become nonexistent,
When starving herself, she'll create no limit,
She obsesses over the number on the scale,
Her pants size she will start to dwell,
Tears will pour down her face,
As she notices she's not yet the "perfect" weight,
She will grow to hate herself even more,
While the thought of being thinner she will grow to adore,
She will start to fake a smile to hide how she truly feels,
But deep down she knows her nightmares are becoming real,
She starts to get thrill from cutting herself,
She doesn't realize that she needs some help,
She is convinced it takes away the pain,
From living less than perfect everyday,
She starts taking over-the-counter drugs by the bottle,
In hopes it'll help her look like her favorite model,
She hates everything about her body,
Self harm has became her only hobby,
She used to be social, now she loves being alone,
Because she doesn't want her non-perfect body to be shown,
She looks in the mirror at herself once more,
Now she's even unhappier than ever before,
She doesn't understand why she can't be perfect,
But she still continues to drown herself in neglect,
She is now only a wasting away corpse,
But she feels no feelings of remorse,
She hopes eventually she will reach her goal,
But how can she continue to live when her body isn't whole,
She is blinded by what only others can see,
That she is going to unhealthy, deadly extremes,
She doesn't care to do what it takes,
She's tired of experiencing the pain and heartbreak,
Slowly her body is wasting away,
But she is fearless, not afraid,
She will never see herself as beautiful,
Society has her blinded and delusional,
Society has taught her to hate her inner being and the body she dwells in,
The only thing she can think of is being unnaturally thin,
"Maybe then I'll be beautiful" she says to herself,
Grabbing another bottle of pills off of her bathroom shelf,
"Just a few more pounds" she mumbles,
As she steps off of the scale with a stumble,
She watches in the mirror as she takes her very last breath,
Society has lead her to her very own death,
Maybe now her soul can be free,
Of those obsessive thoughts that have finally fleed.
