This is for the times you hid under the titanium shell of your covers waiting for the monsters to go away.
This is for the times that new toy as seen on t.v. you wanted at Christmas was replaced with tube socks.
This is for the times your crush circled "No" on the love letter you sent across the expanse of the classroom.
This is for the times that wrinkled old lady sent you to the office for being yourself.
This is for the times that bully shoved you in the dirt at recess laughed in your face.
This is for the times you hated your parents for holding you back.
This is for the times your screams sounded like silence because no one was there except to press a pillow to your face.
This is for the time you picked yourself up, brushed off the dirt, ripped up that pillow, and kept on rolling like the little engine saying I think I can; I think I can.
This is for the time I think I can became I will.
This is for the future when you realize your parents didn't let you fly not out spite, but because you weren't ready to leap from the nest until now.
This is for the future when I will becomes I have.
This is for the future when that teacher who nagged and that bully who laughed will have to look up to you on your mountain of accomplishments.
This is for the future when you tell your child they don't those titanium covers because your here for them.
This is for the future as your child sits upon Mount Achievement remembering who helped them climb to the top.

We had just finished watching Louder Than A Bomb in class and I wanted to make a decent poem that meant something.
