Stroll through the Park
Sunday afternoon on the island of La Grande Jatte by George Seurat
Stroll through the Park
It’s a beautiful day for a stroll
the grass is green
the sun shining bright
and animals out running a muck
the dogs playing fetch
and the squirrels scavenging
I go to my favorite spot
the grass by the lake
were the boats ride by
smiling at the audience and enjoying its sail
I look around at all the people
Men with their hats on
And women in their dresses
some are nice to the eyes
others you can’t help but snicker your nose
the sight of the little girls in their best attire
smiling and jumping with glee
little boys gussyd up
handy with a ball
and a kite that will soar through the sky
although it’s a bit crowded
causing uncomfort at times
I look up at the blue sky
And the fluffy white clouds
Breath in the air
And take in the moment
Then hide behind the shade of the tall oak tree
And think to myself
What a beautiful day for a stroll
