Tooth Fairy
Wiggle, pull, wiggle, yank,
a gush of red splotches my hand.
Tubes restrict me.
Napkin!
I need a napkin!
The nurse hovers over me,
the cave upon her face shelters green creatures,
my face crinkles.
She removes the tooth.
I cry in angst,
I want to guard it.
Hands gently maneuver their way under my pillow,
soft but ugly,
littered with girly decorations.
Eyes drooping,
I fall into a deep slumber as mom steps in.
My dreams are invaded with coughs,
silence takes over.
All is blank,
until a stream of light pierces my face.
Shimmering wings,
they flutter with an unwaning glow,
so pretty, so mesmerising.
A petite, feminine figure cloaked in snow;
Tooth Fairy?
I see the light.
It follows her every move.
Her hand extends towards me,
the light becomes too overpowering.
My eyes gradually creek open,
mom is hunched over me,
tears leak from her eyes like a broken dam.
A peek at the doctor,
in his hands an odd contraption.
I see the reminisce of sparks die out.
So confused.
Tubes restrict me,
I can’t reach my tooth.
All I want is the tooth fairy.
