The Speed of Our Days
Life is spinning by.
It's a ride at the fair,
going upside down
and all around;
precious moments whizzing past.
Times you wish to savor
are gone in the blink of an eye.
Little bees zoom in,
seize the hands of the clock,
and tow them round and round-
faster and faster.
Life drags on.
It's like watching a sloth sleep-
nothing
ever
happens.
Each second is a year;
each minute a century.
The hands on the clock
are slogging through quicksand;
being pulled
ever so slowly,
through a lake of molasses.
