Who is that girl?

Who is that girl?

A reflection of a 7 year old wanders her long lengthy coal black hair and large penetrating doe brown eyes

What is the the meaning of life?

Will I be a good person when I grow up?

She's raised on the innocence and nativity  of a child. Not yet knowing what the future holds in store, but excited and happy.

She's only 7 and she knows she different.

Other children don't flap their hands and pace.

Other kids are allowed to go with friends to the schools playground

No one scratches their face and cries in frustration

At things she can't quiet understand

This girl will lead a interesting life

Who's that girl?

12 years old and ears plugged from unpleasant sounds and eyes averted

Her name is r***** in her mind

And Heather second

She hates her weakness and her sensitivity

Which may just lead to her demise

In this hell she calls life.

Who's this girl?

Who at 10 wanted to be a writer, mother, explorer, and adventure the world

Is now in the stall crying.

Praying to God for the perfect way to die

Kids tease her for the way she walks, plugs he ears and the sheer shyness that radiates from her

There's no meaning to life it seems

Just endless shame and guilt

But people still see beauty in her broken wings

She will discover there is more to life than once thought

Who is that girl

10 grade

Shy awkward and quiet.

But with more confidence and a best friend who will help her out in life.

Her eyes dart  away from faces and friendly souls

For who can you trust in this world of ours?

19 years old now and still suffers from social anxiety and depression

People stare for the way she walks and talks.

But she is happy

Because who she is is something of a greater scheme than anyone but God can put together

Her eyes are open and friendly

She blooms like a flower in the spring and her laugh is as fresh as new fallen snow

Who is that girl?

That doesn't know or think its possible for boundaries and tradintal society rules to really tell a person who they love or what and who they are

She knows no limits on life and love

Gender and human identity

Like a the swirl of her flapping hands

You can't being to imagine the things she will create with her writing and use of the English language.

Words and knowledge are her weapons of choice

Who is this girl?

A sister, daughter, aunt, friend, lover, and writer

A lover of bands and books

She is too many things for words

Who is this girl?

I would just start with my name

Heather

The author's comments:
This has been on my mind to submit to this magazine publication for awhile now. A young adult living at home still and just taking life as it goes. I have Aspergers but I see it more as disorder than a disability. This piece really speaks to me because I am always wandering who is that girl? I'm still trying to discover myself and live a full and prouductive life.
