To feel pain
If only to remember
That she is alive

Fists clench, eyes crinkle
A sharp intake of breath
Startles bedbugs

Paint drips
Blade drops
A blood pact
A music box
Forever tainted watercolor

Yet she regrets the request she made of the sun.
The clouds cleared before the thunder.
Rain, a cloud’s repentance

Rain drips
The raindrops
The sun eclipsed
A lightbox
