Paragons

Paragons of physical perfection,
Unstoppable will, the fires of youth, burning the weakness from their bodies,
Rigorously forging themselves into javelins, ready to be thrown,
Across the sea, wherever they’ve grown,
To partake in a contest of olde,
Where men once competed to engrave their names among gods,
From humble China to once-Great Britain ,
Men and women of all flavors and strengths compete for fame amongst their peers,
Though with most they’ll be soon forgotten,
With only a slab of gold to show for their tears.
