Magic
Walking down the cobblestone roadway
I can hear the patter of children giggling
and music softly playing in the background.
I see a young girl in a golden princess dress,
a baby being held by his father,
and a couple who have just married.
Memories come flooding back to me now;
main road always smelled of cotton candy and ice cream.
The sky is a bright blue and there isn’t a cloud in sight.
The sun shone down on us
gently kissing our shoulders, and the tips of our noses.
As I walked closer, Cinderella’s castle came into full view.
Its color matched the beautiful day
and her tower so tall it could reach the stars.
“This is magic. This is where all your wishes come true,”
a young man said to me,
smiling while handing me a Mickey balloon.
I smiled back at him, and then up at the castle.
He was right.
This is magic.
This is where wishes come true.
