Bleed
The numbness that hurts
All too much,
The need to feel
That drives too many.
When the emotional turmoil,
inside your mind
Becomes too much,
and you just want to feel something.
You just want to bleed,
To feel the bitterness melt away,
To feel the pain leave through pouring blood,
You just want to feel in your heart once more.
It’s the numbing ache,
The painless pain,
The darkness in our minds,
That makes us want to feel.
The hurt that never hurts,
The hurt you'd give anything to stop,
The emotional pain and numbness
That becomes so physical.
When the pain becomes too real,
The numbness becomes too much,
The need to feel something,
Or anything at all.
The pain bottled up inside,
The volcano that wants to erupt,
It spills out in blood,
The need to let it all out.
The pain inside doesn’t escape,
It festers inside,
Haunting your darkening mind,
Until you want to pour out your life.
You just want to bleed,
You just want to feel,
In your heart once again,
You just want to bleed.
It's such a dark, cold path,
A never-ending tunnel,
But it's a tunnel,
So there's light at the end.
The pieces of your heart
Can be put together,
The pieces in your life
Can be glued.
You can move on,
Let go of the numbing pain,
Get up another day,
And begin to heal
The shadows that haunt
Won’t follow you all your life,
You can shake them off,
You can set your armor down.
You don't have to bleed,
You can feel in your heart,
Once again,
You don't have to bleed.
You don't have to bleed,
You can move on,
You can get on with your life,
You can go on.
The numbness can melt away,
Every tear you shed
Shows that you still feel,
And that you still hurt.
The pain in your life
Can be washed away,
The darkness is a tunnel,
An ever-narrowing canyon..
But each tunnel has an end,
In a canyon you can look up,
There are stars in the sky,
To show you’re not alone.
You may want to bleed,
You may want to feel
In your heart once more,
But you can feel without the blood.
The physical pain is just a release,
It’s just an escape,
But you don’t have to bleed,
You just have to shed your tears.
The blood doesn't help,
The pain doesn't go away,
Creating more creates more pain,
Not just for you.
The physical pain is nothing,
It’s just so you can feel,
But you don't have to bleed,
You just have to shed your tears.
I will be here,
To hold you through the night,
I will always be here,
And you are not alone.
You can cry all you want,
But don’t you dare bleed,
For I will be here,
And I will carry you on.
I will be here to dry your eyes,
To fight your demons,
And I will be here,
To show you’re not alone.
You don’t have to bleed,
For I will be here for you,
I’ll help you feel in your heart,
For you don’t have to bleed.
