Secrets

Happy smile, sad eyes
Oh, what secrets she has to hide
She cries all night and lies all day
When asked what's wrong she has nothing to say
All the voices inside her head
Hate her and want her dead
She is lost and all alone
But no one will ever know

The broken flow in blood is her only relief
It takes away from the feelings of hatred and grief
She has lost all control of her cutting addiction
Her blade is not a friend, he's nothing but an infliction
She cuts until she falls asleep
The blood cover towels lying in heaps
Each morning she wakes in a pool of her tears
Then goes to school and faces her worst fears
Her fears of rejection
The mockery of her imperfections
Her scars covered up, her fake smile plastered on
A cycle she will repeat until she's finally gone

Cutting isn't the only thing she tries to hide
She is secretly starving herself why dying inside
Perfection is the goal she strives to reach
Her demons feeding off her misery like a life-sucking leech
She doesn't eat, not even a bite
Growing weaker and weaker as she tests her might

She will never tell a soul
All the secrets she beholds
Living in fear that someone may tell
Surviving all alone in her own personal Hell
In her eyes she deserves this pain
As she sits crying and slicing her vein

The biggest secret of hers would be
That little girl is actually me
