Favorite Quote:
Your greatest failures lead to your greatest success if you keep moving forward.

Venture to the land where the sun doesn't shine,
the place where its dark and the stars are dying.
Where the plains are frozen and forever cold,
there roams a crushed girl's soul.
From the lightening and thunder the fire ignites,
the burning flames illuminating the dark night.
The shrill howls of the wolves rebound,
fiercely echoing as they hunt what they've found.
The girl far too long alone and forgotten,
constantly remembering the battle that was never won.
Foreign to the feeling of ever being wanted,
shaming herself to people she trusted.
She walks alone this frozen terrain,
Attempting to start over and forget the pain.
Her head hung low and her tear stained face,
her tiara falls off as she forgets her place.
The loneliness feels as if she were drowning,
the darkness and evils quickly surrounding.
The harsh swear words are painful as knives,
Crippling her soul as she begins to regret life.
To her a hero does not exist,
not even her prince's true love kiss.
Unrealistically living in a world full of monsters,
feeling to ill and lost for any saving cure.
People are her most terrifying fear,
truly disguised as monsters but people they appear.
But the children more horrendous and evil,
mocking and destroying to each avail.
Thunder erupts in the night air,
dreams don't exist but her reality are nightmares.
She is a girl that needs a loving hug,
warmer than hot chocolate filled in a mug.
Because her world has really been shattered,
constantly reminded that she never mattered.
Now she's a prisoner of her own imagination,
Forming a new world as her creation.
Her presence begins to falter and shift,
balancing between two worlds her soul begins to drift.
Ever so slowly she begins to crawl,
searing pain spreads in reaction to her great fall.
But the ice crystals begin to form,
serving as a safe haven during the storm.
All of her nightmares are really unleashed,
to hideous fiends until the very least.
Now she stands and puts one foot forward.
forever taunted that she was a coward.
Escaping into the realm the and broken world left behind.
Into a land of make believe and sunshine.
Somewhere for her heart to heal,
to finally know how happiness feels.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece as an outlet to one of the darker periods of my life reflecting one of my darker poems but not as morbid. I unconsciously put myself into the girl's point of view facing my own trials. But what others should get is that trials will try to break you and tear you down but no matter what is thrown at you, pick yourself up and look at the positive things and blessings in life.
