Off we go into the night,
Beyond most people’s sight,
Tall trees,
And a winter breeze,

Ice frozen to my face,
But this isn’t a race.
We speed through the night.
Its dark, but we don’t fright,

You see,
Winter is where we want to be,
Long cool nights,
With only the Northern Lights,

Winding through the snow lit trails,
All I see are 8 fluffy tails,
The pounding of husky feet,
It’s a lovely treat,
No people, no sound,
Just the silence of every snow mound,
A feeling most haven’t felt,
Is being so cold you might melt,

The cold is worth it,
Every last bit,
Because the time on my sled,
It’s like the whole world is dead,

Just me, my team,
And one tiny light beam.
A night run,
Is beyond fun.
It’s every musher’s dream,
To be a part of a team,

Eight dogs turned into one,
It’s worth more than a ton,
To be all alone,
With no color tone,

We run all night,
Until the first light,
Then it comes to an end,
Until darkens comes again.
