A Day in the Sun
The sand is as soft as a blanket
Shining bright while in the sun
Delightful laughter comes from the children
As they brave the waves like little warriors
Bracing themselves against the towering waves
Only to be splashed at the feet
All of their fear dissipating
The “click” of a camera being heard
As mothers take over
Claiming to be capturing memories
Of their sun kissed children
Playing in the sand
Building castles to stand by and proclaim
To all they are the bravest
Of them all
The laughter and enjoyment goes on
As the sun creeps lower into the sky
The people grow fewer
And as the day comes to an end
The beach becomes one again
