Steady Hearts

Across perpetual waters
and abundant measures of countless miles,
time seemed to slowly die out leaving a trail
of tears along the way.

Here in this moment I find no end to the
affliction of missing you. And on my own
my mind knows of only one place.
Still I see the truth in your eyes,
I'm holding onto words once spoken.

When I feel taken by long days and the
prevailing distance, I close my eyes to
recall your memory.
To imagine the nights we`ll soon spend
together and the adventures we`ll call our own.
To know what it will be like to wake up beside
one another for the first time.

Know that your love is reflection of my heart,
an echo of what we`ve become.
So if all else may crumble around us, say we`ll
remain the same.

Time will hereafter lead us together again.

I was inspired to write this poem about someone i love dearly. Although difficult days often surround us we remain strong in each other and the hope for a better tomorrow.
