Secrets
They run through the hallways
Smashing into everyone and knocking them over
They don’t care who they tear down
Because they have been released from their cage
And now they want to play mind games
They bend and twist
They etch themselves into people’s lips
They bite and they scratch
They aren’t afraid to attach
They’ll cling on like a leech
If you aren’t too far for them to reach
They snap at your ears
Waiting for you to hear
What they have to say
They will tear at your mind all day
If you do not let them in right away
They tear friends apart
They start wars of the heart
They aim to kill
And they usually succeed
Unless you are not that weak
You are stronger than they are
So do not let them erase who you are
I watch you struggle from afar
They take you down
And slam you into the ground
I take one step forward
And then another
Suddenly I am running
To save you from being smothered
Because I have been there
I know what its like
To keep all of your darkest secrets
Hidden deep inside
But the only way to win
Is to let someone in
Don’t let them win
Just let that one person in
Or you’ll never know what could have been
Never let them win
