Girls Like Me.
Sometimes we forget that we don't have to be strong all the time.
We're not the pretty ones.
We're not the ugly ones.
We're somewhere in between.
And that's part of what makes it so hard to belong,in this segmented world that we live in.
We like girly things, but we aren't girly.
We can roll with the guys, but we don't want to be one of the guys.
We just want to be who we are.
We just aren't sure exactly who that is yet.
We don't expect perfection. But something pretty close would do.
We not helpless, bit a little help wouldn't hurt once in a while.
We have emotions, we just try to hide them.
We have talents and gifts. We're just scared to show them all.
We may never admit it.
But we need love too.
We need someone to care, although we don't act like it all the time.
We want to be accepted, but we also want to be different.
We may try to avoid them, but we make mistakes too.
We're the girls who you see but never know.
We're learning to love ourselves, could you learn to love us too.
Yours truly,
Girls Like Me.
