"Can we create something beautiful, and destroy it?"- Pierce the Veil

When you touch me,
my heart beats faster.
When our eyes meet,
I glow inside.
You make me feel alright.

Slowly, so slowly,
the scars on my wrist,
they began to fade away.
You erased them,
chased the blades away.

But you were shot dead.
Bullet in your head.
They say it's self-inflicted.

Now you're gone.
Even bottles can't take the pain away.
I will never sleep again.
Now that you're gone.

Come back,
why did you have to fly away?
Did you think of me at all?

Did you see my face?
When the bullet hit your skull?
Was it something I've done?
Was it something I've said?

How could you be so selfish?
Do you really expect me to move on?
This is the end.
Goodbye, my friend.

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by my relationship with a very complicated friend of mine. He saved me from my old life, and this is my greatest fear for him. That he should die at his own hands.
