dumb girl
I never water my cactus, but somehow
it’s still alive on my desk next to some
Scotch tape, watercolors, and a picture
of Beyonce. Some people who don’t
know me too well think that all I do
is watch television. I tell them I want
to be famous and they laugh with
mouths so wide that I can see their
sharp teeth and poisonous uvulas.
No boy I’ve ever like-liked has like-liked
me back. I don’t go to parties because I hate
fluorescent lighting and stale Doritos and
basements with Forrest Gump posters.
Literally everyone’s seen that movie, get
over yourself. One time an Adult called me
dumb because I’m bad at Geometry.
My brain might not know all the right
curves, but at least my body does.
