I want to breathe fresh air.
I want to dance in the rain
and run through fields.
I want to climb trees
and hike mountains.
I want to swim with whales
and howl with wolves.
I want to fight in the mud
and bathe in streams.
I want to scream at the edge of a cliff
and laugh into your neck
from the inside of a tent.
I want to sleep in the back of a pick-up truck
and I want to sleep with the stars watching us.
I want to build a fire
and hear the thunder roar.
I want to discover caves
and skinny-dip in lagoons.
I want to smell the salt of the ocean
and the fresh rain in the forest.
I want to drink tea
on the front porch of a cabin
and I want to read a good book,
my back to a tree.
It's wondrous how everyone around me
can settle for less,
because I am suffocating.


I just want to live.
