It came after the wave of tears
That ripped through the gurgling sea,
And flooded the porcelain shore.

After the clouds surrounding her head
Had wrung out every ounce of sorrow
And her lifeless breath had blown away
The coast around her,
A warped piece of driftwood appeared

Gnarled and contorted by the sky’s agony,
It curled in a peaceful unrest,
Wishing for a wish to set it free
Into the brine of the dark sea.
