Little Girl and The Sea
There once was a girl
Who had beautiful hair
And eyes as blue as the sea
She was short and slim with a pointy chin
But she didn’t know how to swim
The little girl was tired
She had the deepest desire
To show everyone that she wouldn’t sink
For she was teased endlessly
By her friends and siblings who could all go swim in the sea
The girls refused her
The boys accused her
As tears ran down her cheeks
For no one had the kindness or love
To go up to her and speak
So the girl cried and cried
Until one stormy night
She was standing almost without sight
At the edge of a cliff near the sea
As she looked down she was horrified by all that her eyes could reach
There were waves so tall
She could hardly breathe
So she took a deep breath
Jumped down without any regret
As a tear rolled down once again
As she got to the water
The waves splashed across the sea
As she struggled for something as basic as air
And still nobody cared
So she gave up once more
Closed her eyes and rested assured
That no one would remember her deed
As she entered a place
Unlike any she’d ever seen
and got ready for her new reality
She understood for once that she wise
To end it all quietly
Since that stormy day near a lonely bay
The waves seem to flow more quietly
Since the world had lost a soul the kindest It’ll ever know The kindest it’ll ever see
It was the soul of a girl
Who had the beautiful hair
And eyes as blue as the sea
The girl with the deepest desire
That ended up setting on fire as well as in tragedy
Yet people near say
That from far away
You can hear the cries of the sea
As it seeks for a smile
On the face of a child but of one that knows how to swim.
