The Story of My Mind

I am mom's homemade hot chocolate with extra marshmallows on a chilly winter day,
I am the overly excited child in the bulk candy aisle,
I am that one week you vowed to be healthy and succeeded,
I am fresh Christmas baking, so warm and comforting,
I am constant laughter between friends and a cloudless spring sky.
My mind is a pinball machine of thoughts,
It is a never ending opera song,
The dead flowers in the unused living room,
An elbow to the gut and the realization after fainting.
I am trapped in a ant hole.
