I Am a Tree
I am a tree.
A tree is tall, a tree is large.
A tree is brown, and a tree is green.
But with a closer look you’ll see what’s hidden beneath the bark.
I am a tree because my leaves change colors and fall with the seasons. In the summer I am bright and bold, and in the cold winter months I am dull and boring.
Like a tree, I stand tall, broad, and full of life throughout the day despite the daily struggles that arise and try to bring you down.
Every once in a while a tree does fall, only to easily be cleaned up and a new one replanted. So when I do fall, or get down about something, I can just as easily bring myself back up.
I am a tree because I like to watch over everything around me, with my eyes as the branches, and sort of be in the know of what’s going on in my surroundings.
I am a tree because I know my roots. My roots are what gives me life, and without them I would be lifeless; family, friends, and baseball.
Like a tree that is home to birds, I also try to be there to lend a helping hand, and am always there for comforting when needed.
Like a tree that values and supports life, I also value my life greatly. I love living, and I love and am blessed to have a life.
I am a tree.
