Actions to Words
If actions could be translated to words,
I would write me shouting in my car
after running from the same reoccurring fight
with my head over heels, overachieving brother.
I would write my mother's heavy sigh
and my dad saying “I just don't know”
He doesn't know because I can't tell him.
I would write the way they changed so fast,
Gone from beaming, bragging, and me bashful
to them frowning, the frustration, and silence.
I wish I could write me fixing it like I should
It's on me. I have to. I want to.
How do I fix a problem I don't always understand?
Years from now,
If actions could be translated to words
I hope to write me overcoming, and coming over
back to everything I missed when I didn't understand.
