that one patch of trees I call home
Gully
 lonely, yet never alone
that’s how I feel in the gully
 lost in my thoughts
 dashing around the grass
 thinking deeply of nothing
 a wandering soul
 am I?
that’s how I feel in the gully
 I climb a tree
 the infinity tree
 watching light spear through
 a thick ceiling of branches
 to my unseen hideaway
 the river bubbles,
 gurgles nearby
 the birds chirp softly
 their cries of excitement
 carried gently,
 delicately
 on the breeze.
 I pretend I am camping
And the world is at peace
That’s how I feel in the gully
