If Only You Knew How Much She’s Missed You

She looks up at You
with her deep brown eyes,
as if You were a holy god
holding the key to her heart.
You are the only thing that
matters to her in this moment.
She lets out a joyous cry
and wags her tail
as You walk through the door.
She has been eagerly waiting
for You to return all day,
and nothing could surpass
the feeling of relief and happiness
contained in her small, furry, brown body.
