How It Once Was
As the rush of the real world passes by
the sandbox seems like a perfect place to hide.
A businessman hurries across the street, unaware
of the escaped balloons heading into the everlasting blueness.
Meanwhile, the thrill of a slide amuses a child
as he effortlessly climbs up the ladder again and again
just to descend down one more time.
As he reaches the bottom, the woman across the street
plops down in her gray office chair beginning her eight hour day.
If only she could sit down on a swing.
