Overweight
She wasn’t like the other kids
and she could tell.
Her mother always told her it’s what’s on the inside that matters,
but she never believed it.
If her mother was right then why did all the kids pick apart her appearance
calling her the fat girl, porky or whale?
If appearance didn’t matter then why didn’t she have any friends
and why did no boys like her?
She knew her mother was trying to make her feel better about herself,
but how could she feel good about herself,
now she can barely fit in the desks at her school
and she has to have clothes specially made for her.
She knows that no matter what anyone says
if you don’t have good looks
personality means nothing.
