The Shaddow
I just need an escape,
I need a voice without fear
I need a calm, quiet place
 And a day without tears.
And I want it to end,
 The anger, the pain
 The swearing, the outbursts
 The cold, driving rain.
 Because a long time ago,
 The pennies stopped falling
And the birds left the trees
 Yesterday I stopped calling
 And when it’s all over
 What will be left?
Of the life that we led
And the sun that has set
 Without any notice
On a world between where I’m standing
 And you.
