Band Aids and Bleeding Hearts

The scars on her wrist
have healed and disappeared
but I know the scars on her heart
are open and bleeding
I try to bandage her heart
to heal it and make in unbreakable
but everyone knows that band aids
don't make the pain go away
I love you! You can't do this to yourself,
don't you get it?
I say
She doesn't
I want to shake her
to get her heart
to beat
and not bleed
so that she will wake up happy
and I won't wake up
with her gone forever.
