Your Eyes
The windows into the soul
They see beauty
and pain
so much pain
They hold spires of twisting glass
people’s times, winding and uncertain.
They see the broken
and the crying, and the beaten, and the bloody
Mirrors of hurt, reflecting misery and agony
Eyes see perseverance
They see light at the end of the tunnel,
They see the color in a black and white world.
The light flickering in the darkness
They see what a simple hug can change
You see love
You see its wake
You see scars
You see their wounds
I want those eyes.
