And They
And they burn holes
into the back of your head,
with their threatening stares,
because of your difference.
Maybe no one sees the real you,
and you hide away,
to never be seen
for the beauty
you are.
and they
question your looks.
the zit.
your hair.
your clothes.
the bump on your nose.
the hole in your shoe.
while every remark,
sends you lower
and lower.
and they tell you
that your a freak,
of balancing sadness
on a tightrope of depression
above a high pit
of bullies,
whose mouths are filled,
not with pointy teeth
or curly tongues,
but with laughs
and taunts,
and remarks
that send cracks
down your heart,
until it shatters all
together.
Don't you tell me
that hurts less
that a bite to the arm.
Everyone sees your
outside.
as something to poke,
and prod at.
nothing matters to you.
your feelings belong to them.
but do you know what?
all of those remarks
and pokes,
and jokes,
will one day make you
strong.
no one shall compare
to the beauty you hold
within your heart.
Everyone sees your happiness
on the outside,
but not your sadness
within.
but one day,
you'll be stronger.
just survive,
until they realize
how strong you are.
