Keeping Her High
And when she took that leap of faith, she didn't come back.
She was told that she could do anything that she wanted.
Her mother used to tell her all the time that she is amazing.
One day she walked up to her mother and said,
"Mommy, can I fly?"
Her mother laughed and said,
"Yes. You can do anything you want."
A few years later, she remembered the conversation that she and her mother had.
She climbed up on out to the roof and stood taller than the tallest tree in the yard.
She turned back to her window to see her mother in the doorway screaming "don't do it!"
She whispered faintly "I love you mommy."
And than she flew.
