Don't Tell
When the summer sun shines hotly down on people,
A girl covers her arms with long sleeves shielding her secrets.
When in a bathing suit concealer covers her arms,
Shorts protect her hips from other people’s knowledge.
Her nights are spent awake,
Worrying people may find out one day.
As time goes on more meals are skipped,
And her body grows to be almost skeletal.
She feels people are starting to stare,
But most of it’s in her mind.
Paranoia is taking over her life.
Constantly she looks around,
Searching for a culprit that will tell everything.
She avoids her parents to escape questions,
Her friends have abandoned her after many missed calls,
Left without a reply.
Sometimes she sees reason and tries to help herself,
But those nights aren’t as common as the others.
Those often filled with self-loathing and pain.
She is riddled with anxiety,
Nothing can get in her way of demise.
