Boredom
Because today watching reruns seems unappealing
Pacing the floors
Back and forth
Listening to your bare feet
As they tread in rhythm
Tapping on the counters
To an imaginary beat
The clocks,
They mock you
Their hands are always busy
Doing their job.
Always ticking
Never missing a beat
Never getting tired
But today,
The work slowly
You imagine,
Running
Jumping
Escaping
Tasting sweet freedom
But,
Outside it is cold
Filled with disappointing mounds of snow
Even the glass that imprisons you is frozen
Victim
That is what you are;
A victim of an endless winter.
