Imagination
Making her smile with its childlike tone
Soothing scent of watermelon overwhelms her
Hot chocolate and pretzels never fail to come
A little six-year-old runs around, playing house,
Or whatever she felt like that day
She runs home just in time for dinner
Mac and cheese, made by Grandma of course
The creaminess hits her tongue
She goes to the beach
Water rushing against her feet
The hot sand being dulled out by the cool blue ocean
Never leaving anyone out while playing tag
A young hand presses slightly on her back
The hot slide sticks to her legs,
But it’s not a slide anymore
It’s a yellow swirly device
Keeping her safe from the blinded monkey
Who was wandering around the playground
Looking for the next monkey
