Silence
why are you such a mess
and why do you shut me out
I’m not sure what to make of it,
the silence that stands between us
you won’t talk about it to anyone
you say that you are fine
but we all know your reputation of lies
why should we trust you this time
Logic puzzles come easily to me,
but you remain a mystery
if only emotions made any sense
the silence keeps growing, we’re farther apart
now what am I supposed to do?
we used to hold hands
but now all that holds is the silence
why can’t I wrap my head around you
I’m the slave to my emotions
each memory like a lash
cutting deeper and stinging again
I can’t even look you in the eyes
The silence still stands,
I’ve run out of plans
there’s nothing left to do
except to run and hide
