The Life of a Turtle
I sit in my shell,
 All day long,
Wondering if I will ever be free,
 Of this shell covering me

I have the worst tan lines ever,
I can never remove my shell,
I just sit in the sun,
 Baking until I’m done

I crawl around in the dirt,
 Sometimes on the sand,
 But no matter what,
Something is always up my butt

 I never understood,
Why I am always compared to a hare,
Sure I can walk faster than a bunny,
Ha, what a joke, that’s kind of funny

My feet are webbed like a duck,
 We also have similar beaks,
I really need to get over this hurdle,
 Because I don’t feel like a turtle

 Today I shed my skin,
 And laid some eggs,
 Twenty in fact,
 But three of them cracked

I have survived for so long,
 Just over fifty-five years,
 My skin is turning purple,
Because I live the life of a Turtle
