Unfolding Layers
The instructor said,
Go home and write
A page tonight.
And let that page come out of you-
Then, it will be true.
I thought about my still blossoming life,
Unfolding layers,
Going through my confusing world,
Like a blind alley at every turn.
Finding myself placed in a barbaric world.
Adam Levine and rap music rushing through my ears,
following me everywhere I go,
along with super famous superstars on small phones to supersized posters.
A vortex of fashionable clothes, and an obsession with money,
All the source of a kooky craze.
I thought about how we think we know so much,
but have bountiful amounts of information to learn.
How through my fledgling eyes, everyday is a life lesson waiting patiently to be uncovered.
I am still a newborn,
with so much to grasp.
I observed how we try not to slip in a puddle of superficial.
With our shrewd, brisk lives,
everyone tries to find their particular purpose.
Buzzing like busy bees,
we carry on as best as we can in all of the craze,
hoping everything will be alright.
