The Future
Well, destiny
It's such a frightful thing,
The twist and turns,
Victory obtained,
Nothing to gain.
This is a story,
One not meant to tell,
If you didn’t notice,
The words don’t fit well.
These bitter words,
That you will soon read,
Pour from me,
Like pen and ink.
Such a sad world,
I’m sorry to say,
That your, no our, future,
Didn’t end a good way.
People pushed well past their limits,
Push a trigger towards them or against,
Be wary of night,
Of strangers,
Large places,
And being alone.
For in the future
Tis not safe,
To go outside?
You’ll meet your fate.
For my lads and lassies,
I do bid an apology,
All men are not free,
You all had to fight,
For race and gender,
Rights alike.
Now the rights are threatened,
For who you love,
One religion caused this all.
It’s so bad,
The future my dears,
Please don’t bear on your hearts,
The wish to be here.
The future is where you store,
Hopes,
Dreams,
And happiness galore.
I have to say,
The future failed you,
All the same.
Please, don’t place hope in tomorrow,
But do today,
Perhaps then our future,
Might not be this way.
Remember, dear reader,
Your future is near,
Don’t make it dark,
Let hope be clear.
You can’t escape the past,
Nor avoid the present,
But the future-tis a fragile thing,
It can be you who lets happiness ring.
No one knows what the future might bring,
No knows dear reader,
No one but you,
No one but me.
The future,
Don’t let it cling,
Don’t get sucked under its wing,
For here, common sense does not ring.
My dear reader,
A creature of sorts,
The future is terrible,
The future is bad,
Tis why we all wish,
To return to the past.
I hope I got my point across,
I hope I made it clear,
That yes,
The future is a thing to fear.
