The Dream
Watching basketball on TV
Seeing the fans cheer and shouts
Dress in all sorts of paint and clothes
Watching players soar through the air, slamming it down
Catching my attention shot by shot
Thinking and pondering to myself
Could this be the sport for me?
Always dreamed of basketball
Attempts to play brought no success
Twisting my leg, and hurting my knee
Wishing to play, but had to wait
Ready to play with winning on my mind
I dribble the ball looking around the court for someone to find
Passing the ball with speed and skill
It’s like a huge stage and we’re all on set
I run pasts the fans and head for the net
The ball is passed and I lay it up
We battled, we scored, we dribbled and we won
Maybe after all… this was my sport
Winning was always great
But it didn’t matter win or lose
Basketball would always be my dream
