I try not to follow it
Into the depths of hell
I don't want to face it
But I know that I will
Everywhere I go
I see that it's there
Hidden underneath
Burdened by fear
Trying to hide
Underneath sleeves
I know you're getting thinner
Darling please eat
I worry ever night
When will it come?
Then it screams
"I already have"

I was inspired to write this poem because a great deal of my friends and family have been clinically diagnosed with many types of depression
