At the Devil's Playground

She carries her mind like a subway
Running from place to place
The array of faces and lost souls is a gateway with a hidden key
A multitude of Damaged hopes and dreams
And on the opposite side
The side radiating glory
Who have surpassed the boundaries
Despite the direction
Both good and bad have made their habitats
A terrorized mind is not selfish to one
For it is contained in us all
She desires to speak
However it is fair
That no one may listen
She engages in the distractions
However who even avoids such
She nervously anticipates
However what she aspires will never be
She imagines Utopias
However only one residing in the midst of the devils playground would have such dreams.

This piece was inspired by my several trips I have taken to cities. Cities always have had a profound impact on me; I found it intriguing how people quickly pass by one another, never seeing each other again, never knowing each other, and never get to know them.
