"Where I Am From"
I am from cookies,
from Coca-Cola and cartoons.
From the bricked wall building,
powdering every time it gets hit.
I am from everlasting shrubs,
whose green leaves lasting in winter.
I’m from the festival of colors,
glee and joy of parents and relatives.
I’m from life at a blue ocean,
lost alone looking for land.
From the yellow sun,
giving hope to every living thing.
I am from brown eyes full of comfort,
from brush your teeth,
and no later than 12.
I’m from the religion of Hinduism,
from karma and reincarnation.
I am from Friday night pizza,
and Sunday morning pancakes.
I am from moments of success,
riding my bike.
I’m from black eyes of anger,
raging at every failures and loss.
The unique one in my family.
