City State of Mind
Cities are quite like minds
The loudness, the clutter, the mush
It all builds to create a masterpiece
When the skies are grey
The city seems to become lifeless
People narrow down, cars become reckless
But yet the lights still shine through
The gloom descending from the weather doesn't impair
The city still stays alive, vibrant, lurid
And just like a mind
When negativity takes a seat in your mess
Your voice dims down, but your thoughts do not
Your ideas dwindle with gaze and vivacity
Pessimism cannot take over your mind
For it is just a state that occupies time
Your mind however is an everlasting noun
So never let a rainstorm suppress your brightness
Because it will pass and be just a state of time in the end
