There is a Future for Me
In the tree,
was the old way.
Were I lived,
we focused on survival.
You fed me.
Yes, yes mother it's true.
Your brought me food,
and Daddy made our shleter.
I never went without.
Being one of 7,
it's easy to be overlooked,
but I never had to go without.
I was special.
One out of 7 boys.
Me, a girl, so much like a gracious swan in a flock of ravens.
You wanted what was "best"
In your eyes, it really didnt matter,
what i really wanted, it was out of the question.
You were set on the old way.
The shut out owl understood,
so when I fell from the tree,
he took me under his wings.
Here I flourished.
Here I blossomed.
I finally found my nest.
A place where I could explore,
and be unlike the rest.
Here, I bloomed.
The owl taught me all the wonderful things.
About Aristotle,Copernicous, and Kepler.
Her my imagination soared.
Here I flew.
While the tree began to wilt, Mother.
I learned that I to can be someone,
and I already am something,
and I can be GREAT.
So while you chased the old ways,
chased the worm,
knit, stitch, sew.
holding fast to those old ways.
I blossom and learn the genus of species.
I will forge a new path.
One through the unknown,
but I will become,
a Well-Known.
I learned all this,
from the Owl,
when he tucked me under his wings,
after I fell from the tree
